Eye Doctor and Hair Salon

Today we had a few errands to run. Pretty boring day as far as days go. I had an appointment at the eye Dr. and we also had to go grocery shopping.
We'll start our adventure at the Dr.'s office. I quickly learned that an appointment. .. ANY appointment, with three kids in tow, makes for a challenge. I snapped the following pictures as soon as we sat down in the waiting room.

Now, I'll take the opportunity to inform you that approximately six seconds after these angelic shots were taken, the demeanor of these children totally changed. It was as if they had been replaced by some characters from Looney Tunes. It was all I could do to hold it together during the 30 minute eye exam.

Finally, we made it out of the eye Dr. ALIVE, and the kids had calmed down a bit. . . .so, I decided to proceed with my shopping trip to Kroger. BIG MISTAKE!! On Aisle 1, they were at it again. The boys fighting over whether to get Jif or Peter Pan peanut butter and Brodie shrieking like someone was trying to cut off her hands quickly caused my two page list to be bumped down to three things: milk, bread, and cheese. I learned quite awhile ago that at the Allen house, we could live for two years if provided with only these three staples. So, we tore out of there with flames shooting from the buggy wheels, loaded the civic and headed to the comfort of home.

Later that evening, after things had calmed down, everyone got their baths for the night. I played a little "Hair Salon" with Brodie. As you'll see, she didn't LIKE the mohawk at first, but eventually, she realized how cool she looked and perked up. :) I'm having too much fun with this girl thing already! :)

Wordless Wednesday-March 21, 2010

Ok, so this post isn't so "wordless". Here is a pic of Brodie at four weeks old. The ladies of our church made this quilt for her.

Meeting Papa Crock-March 19, 2010

So, today we went to meet Papa Crock (Joey's Daddy) for the first time.

Brek, Bae & Brodie in front of the creek behind the house. Yes, there is a gator that lives there, but No, we didn't see him this particular day! :)

The boys spent most of the afternoon hanging out on the dock overlooking the river, looking for the gator that never showed and shooting hoops. (They are their daddy's boys!)

Bae carefully lining up his shot.

Check out Brek's form!

Before we left, I was able to snap a photo of our branch of the Allen Family Tree.
