Mother's Day

Well, it's Mother's Day. . . .my sixth. . .wow, it doesn't seem like that long. .and it seems like forever all at the same time.

Today, after opening my gifts, the boys and I headed to lunch. Joey had worked last night, so he crashed just as we were getting ready to leave. We had a really good time; just me and my guys. I really wanted to get a picture of us to commemorate the occasion, but had forgotten my tripod, so I had to balance the camera on the top of my car, set the timer and then run back to the boys. A lady at a portrait studio told me long ago, not to stress about pictures turning out perfectly. She said, "Honey, if they're screaming or pouting, it'll just represent how it was. Pictures shouldn't be perfect, they should be true to life." So, here's ours.

Bae is about to fall over and I'm desperately trying to hold him up and smile, so while our positions couldn't be more awkward, the smiles are genuine!

The boys had picked out my present the day before. Bae was so excited (and so totally convinced that I was going to peek before it was time) that he slept with the present behind his pillow. He said just in case I wanted to get "sneaky."

Bae picked out the sunglasses, "so the sun didn't burn my eyes and make me blind." Brek picked out the . . .rocks? He said so I could "put them in the bath." ??? It's the thought that counts, right?! The hat was from Joey, so I "would stop stealing all of his hats." (He's so thoughtful!)

As I started to update my blog, Bae asked me if I was going to tell everybody about my presents. He said, "Mama, mine was very expensive." I told him I was and he replied, "Make sure you tell them how I wrote my name and Brek's name in cursive in the card."

Not to be outdone, Brek wanted me to make sure that I told everyone that he CAN write his name too.

He also, showed me what he had written on his travel magna-doodle.

He said, "It says Happy Mother's Day. . . .in chinese!"

Today I am so thankful for my boys. . . .all three of them!

A Mother's Day Memory. . . .
